Fire Safety Tips
Here are some basic fire tips to keep you safe!
- Never leave food cooking unattended, especially deep fryers and other frying equipment.
- Avoid using portable and fixed space heaters, as heating equipment is the second leading cause of home fire deaths.
- Have a fire plan that gets you out of your home in less than two minutes and practice it.
- Avoid smoking in the house
You can contact your local fire station for a free home safety checklist.
Check Your Smoke Alarms
It’s almost time to change your clocks! You should also change your smoke alarm battery. A functioning smoke alarm can alert you to possible fire and provide you the opportunity to escape without harm.
If a fire does occur in your home, get out and stay out. Try to close all the doors as you leave so fire spread can be limited.
Smoke alarms do save lives!
